Whats Your Word for 2013?

No New Year's Resolution for 2013.  This year I have picked a "word" to ponder when I need a boost.  JOY!!  I hope to reflect on this word to remember how truly blessed I am.  Also to choose JOY when life throws me a hurdle.  What's your word for the new year?

Goodbye 2012

A little vintage Christmas this year in the china cabinet.

Last night, we had a small gathering with two of our daughters and granddaughters.  Missed the remainder of our family!  We did prepare our daughter's Lakeshore Pork recipe from Ireland.  Yummy!  If you would like the recipe, leave a comment below.

Doggie Doggie Where's Your Bone

This doggie treat is a favorite of my chocolate lab, Millie.  She absolutely LOVES these treats!  This recipe was given to me by Linda.  Millie thanks you Linda for these delicious treats!

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 Tablespoon of baking powder
1 cup of peanut butter
1 cup of milk

1.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2.  Spray cooking sheet with cooking spray.
3.  Mix the dry ingredients (flour & baking powder) in a separate bowl.  In the other bowl combine peanut butter and milk.
4.  Slowly add the dry ingredients to the peanut butter/milk mixture.  I had to use my hands to mix the ingredients together.
5.  Knead until smooth.  Roll out the dough and use a cookie cutter to cut shapes.  I prefer a dog bone that I bought at Michaels probably two years ago.
6.  Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly brown.  Remove and let treats cool.

I froze half of the treats in the freezer to use for a later date.

Our Chapter Begins

My daughter and I are beginning on our next chapter today...creating a blog.  A little background about me:  my official retirement date begins tomorrow.  Yippee!  After 25 years, I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life.  I have been married 43 years to a man that puts up with my Type A personality.  By the way, he is the best Dad in the world to our 4 children.  Below is a brief synopsis of what makes me tick:

1.God
2.Family
3.Decorating
4.Couponing
5.Sewing
6.Knitting
7.Crocheting
8.Gardening
9.The Celtic Woman
10.Beth Moore

Now I am going to turn this over to my daughter.

This will be short and sweet.  I have been teaching elementary school for fourteen years.  I have two beautiful daughters and my favorite place to vacation is Folly Beach, South Carolina.  As you can tell, I am the quiet one in the family.

Join us as we create and begin this new journey. This blog will be a modge podge of ideas.

Guess you can figure out which one is the Mom/Gammy of the 3 girls and granddaughter.
